ABOUT THE ROLE:

As the Assistant Manager, Outbound Transportation, you’ll take ownership of the daily operations that keep our outbound transportation running smoothly. You’ll ensure seamless business activities, clear communications, insightful analytics, and accurate reporting. Serving as the main point of contact for stores, carriers, and the FSC for our 3PL Canada Distribution Centers, you’ll be at the heart of our customer service excellence.

You will play a key role in upholding carrier compliance and enhancing procedure controls, making a direct impact on our operational success. Additionally, you’ll support the Logistics & Distribution management team by troubleshooting service challenges and driving effective recovery solutions—helping us deliver outstanding service, every day.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

-Support day-to-day domestic outbound transportation, including working a flexible schedule to assist distribution centers across two time zones, with evening and weekend shifts during peak periods
-Handle daily transportation administrative tasks as needed
-Produce, analyze, and summarize daily, weekly, and monthly transportation performance and cost reports, as well as dashboards
-Create and maintain standard and exception store delivery schedules in the Logistics Portal, and communicate effectively with carriers and stores to ensure consistent service
-Set up and update new store schedules, supporting stores, carriers, and distribution centers with all pre- and post-opening merchandise orders
-Manage the Canada Distribution Customer Service Logistics Mailbox, delivering exceptional service to stores by assisting with delivery delays, OSD submissions, general delivery, and reverse logistics inquiries
-Maintain the carrier booking portal and reverse logistics processes for stores, ensuring accuracy and compliance
-Coordinate and manage outbound reverse transportation for vendor returns
-Organize scheduled, exception, and expedited freight, and track & trace shipments for timely deliveries
-Follow up on carrier service issues and execute recovery plans through proactive coordination and communication
-Monitor, maintain, and respond to distribution center dispositions, and communicate with the FSC team as needed for outbound transportation issues
-Process claims and submit to carriers and/or distribution centers for cost recovery
-Support finance and third-party audit teams by ensuring invoice audit accuracy, identifying inconsistencies, maintaining rate sheet references, providing backup booking details and documentation, and assisting with accounts payable follow-ups
-Assist with special projects in Logistics and Distribution as needed
-Support the development, implementation, and documentation of essential processes within your role

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

-2+ years of logistics or transportation experience
-Familiarity with domestic and international carrier rates and booking processes
-Strong organizational and time management skills to keep things running smoothly
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingualism in English and French is a plus
-Proficiency with MS Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred
-Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, with a solid numerical aptitude
-Keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in every task
-Retail Store Operations knowledge is an asset, but not required
-Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment as a flexible team player
-Willingness to work varying hours and days based on business needs
