JOB DESCRIPTION: Commercial Estimator - Packaging
As our Commercial Estimator, you will be required to create, authorise and send quotations to the sales teams and clients. This role will require you to collaborate with internal departments to ensure quotations are accurate, cost effective, profitable and completed promptly. You will be the primary internal contact for enquiries and able to make all commercial decisions relating to quotations and pricing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Commercial Estimator - Packaging
As our Commercial Estimator, you will:
A· Generate quotations, ensuring they are accurate, cost effective, profitable and completed promptly.
A· Make commercial pricing decisions for quotations and customer pricing queries.
A· Liaise with external suppliers to outsource and request prices of materials and products.
A· Select the most cost effective suppliers and materials to offer a competitive advantage.
A· Receive customer orders and work closely with customer service to ensure orders are processed promptly and remain compliant with our quality standards and accreditations i.e. FSC.
A· Produce in depth analysis of production processes and lead times.
A· Analyse changes in cost and production efficiencies and adapt pricing accordingly.
A· Work with the sales teams to follow up on quotations and maximise conversion rate.
A· Identify market and competitor pricing trends and adapt pricing where required.
A· Work closely with internal teams to prioritise enquiries and project work e.g. tenders.
A· Provide commercial support and reports to internal departments where required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Commercial Estimator - Packaging
Previous commercial and estimating experience in a similar packaging-based role is preferred, but not essential.
However, you will have:
A· Excellent communication skills and be able to interact with others internally and externally.
A· The ability to work in a fast moving, professional and structured environment.
A· Awareness of packaging industry and current market trends.
A· Experience of Abaca / Packaging 3000 is desirable but not essential.
A· Proficient use of Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.
A· The ability to manage own workload, prioritise and work to deadlines.
