Mediplacements are currently recruiting for an experienced Sonographer to fill a locum position in Dundee.

Our client is looking for someone who can start as soon as possible for an ongoing duration. The position offers a pay rate of GBP50 - GBP60 per hour.

Job Description:
Required to practice independently as a clinical specialist sonographer.
Based in clinical radiology, predominately general medical and gynaecology, full range of radiology.

CLINICAL ACTIVITY DUTIES
* Accountable for independently reporting of all examinations performed commensurate with training/competency and ensure results are disseminated to referring clinician.
* To analyse complex clinical information and retrieve and evaluate images and related data from current and previous relevant examinations via soft copy images from electronic storage to produce a formal ultrasound report.
* Maintain a high standard of professionalism and personal conduct according to the Health Care Professional Council and College & Society of Radiographers standards of professional conduct and occupational standards for diagnostic ultrasound.
* Operate different ultrasound equipment in differing and demanding environments.
* Develop and maintain a high level of expertise in accordance with clinical governance and to meet service demand.
* Manage the movement of all patient types following NHS Tayside's moving and handling guidelines.
* Manage the infectious patient adhering to NHS Tayside guidelines.
* To undertake any duties and responsibility, skills and competencies, as they arise in the interest of providing an efficient and effective patient centred service.

MANDATORY CRITERIA
* CASE accredited post graduate ultrasound qualifications in Medical Ultrasound
* BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
* Minimum of 5-years ultrasound experience
* Must be HCPC registered
* Proven communication skills, both written and verbal (supported by recent references)
* Full understanding of NHS HAI and HEI and relevance to practice (supported by recent references)
* Highly motivated person who can take control of difficult situations, leading as a senior staff member (supported by recent references)
* Must be flexibility in working location (Tayside) and working hours

MANDATORY (supported by recent references from the past 5 years)
* General medical abdominal scanning
* Gynaecology inc. TV scanning
* Experienced in the use of GE E systems
* Experienced in the use of CRIS radiology information system and Carestream PACS
* Experienced in the use of Trophon decontamination units

DESIRABLE
* Previous experience of working in Scottish Health Boards would be advantageous due to multi-site working and large geography
Successful candidate must be HCPC registered.
